kcolineABOUT THE RESIDENCY

The links between perfume and fashion define the history of 20th century perfume: Paul Poiret is largely considered to be the first fashion designer to launch a perfume line with Parfums de Rosine (launched 1911). This trailblazer was quickly followed by other designers, most notably, perhaps, the iconic Coco Chanel, whose success in this realm opened the floodgates. For better or worse, no fashion house is considered complete, now, without a line of luxury perfumes.

We are excited to pay homage to this historical connection by hosting Los Angeles-based (but French-born, s’il vous plaît) couturière, professional tailor and fashion designer Caroline Flach – who installs a pop-up showroom and studio in our experimental studio space.

Focussing on custom fashion-work, she will be showcasing a selection of her creations – each made by hand using her couture training as a professional tailor.

Residency Dates: October 15 – December 31, 2016
