New work by Heather Poon
The Institute for Art and Olfaction Project Space
On view: February 11 to March 3, 2016

poon_smallThe Institute for Art and Olfaction is pleased to present The Garden of Death and Desire – a solo exhibition of Heather Poon’s work, presented in an immersive, sensorial installation exploring  seduction and murder in the natural world.

Seduction and death in the botanical and entomological realm are no less intense an experience for their scale. Taking the loves, symbiotic relationships and deaths of carnivorous plants and insects as her subjects of exploration, Heather creates paintings that examine in close-up the lilliputian but powerful tools that these often overlooked beings have at their disposal.

The exhibition will feature a collaborative scent component, developed by Heather in conjunction with The Institute for Art and Olfaction.
