New to the field? Always been curious but didn’t know how to get in? We’ve been there. This is where you start. IAO founder Saskia leads a generous exploration of perfumery in all its applications, with an emphasis on creative approaches.

Designed for absolute beginners, Saskia will start with an information-rich tour through perfume history, explain the workings of the contemporary perfume industry, discuss experimental practices with scent – be it independent perfumery or olfactory art. Then, we’ll smell and discuss a curated set of molecules, explore perfume taxonomies, and finishing the session with a blending demonstration and a collaborative formulation exercise.

A great first step for anybody looking to work with scent, or simply understand the field. Any questions, of course, will be amply and generously answered.
