Join us for an artist talk with Yosh Han, Malte Leander, Julia Kubanek, in support of their exhibition ‘Scents and Sonics of The Ocean’ on view at IAO Gallery through Feb. 2, 2024.
IAO Gallery presents a collaborative work that brings together a perfumer, a sound artist, and a marine scientist to explore coastal Sapelo Island. Exploring lost and recovered ocean memory, fragrances created for the exhibition are joined by sound pieces that make use of the spectroscopic signatures of the scent molecules. The outcome of this project is a multisensorial installation that explores the intersection of science, scent, and sound.
