Gourmands: Perfume Blending Workshop for Beginners (in person)

Join us for a guided blending session using aromatic materials associated with the smells of sweets and desserts.
For the first portion of this smelling and blending session, we will learn about some smells of cakes, candies, and other tasty treats. Scent strips will be handed out by your friendly Institute for Art and Olfaction team, and we will spend time smelling and discussing our impressions of these materials.
We will start the second portion of the session by briefly discussing blending scent. Using the palette of perfume materials selected for the class, we will spend the rest of the session blending and creating our own short formulas. Each attendee goes home with two small sprays of their aromatic blend.
Finally, we’ll share some additional tips and tricks for appreciating — and working with — gourmands in perfumery.
Take-Aways:
Participants will leave with a sense of the basics of perfume blending and two small trial perfume blends.
