IAO founder Saskia Wilson-Brown walks attendees through twelve important historical materials. While we smell, Saskia will provide important context and cultural notes on each aromatic, and lead the group through the important process of verbalizing aromatics.
After we smell, participants will be encouraged to select materials, and we’ll spend the second hour learning basic lab work and best practices, including:
– fragrance families
– how to construct and record a formula
– how to assess trials
– how to work a scale
Participants will also create their first perfume accords, and will leave with a small spray vial of their favorite trial, and – most importantly – the tools and knowledge with which to start their new practice.
