Perfumery is an art. But it is based in science. While it is easy to forsake rigour in our quest for beauty, it is important not to lose sight of empirical truths. Neuroscientist Anna D’Errico is here to help, in this continuation of our Science of Smell series.

In this class, Anna digs into the science behind olfactory training, covering the latest updates and scientific discoveries. To train the nose means to train the brain. In this class, we will go through the science between olfactory training as a rehabilitation tool for olfactory alterations, as well as a resource for learning and exploring our smelling abilities and developing sensory appreciation. This talk includes short exercises and latest updates about the ongoing scientific research.

This online talk is presented as part of The Science of Smell series, a collaboration between the Institute for Art and Olfaction and Anna D’Errico.
