Drawing on his doctoral research\, Radel James Gacumo discusses how multisensory and multimodal texts\, including olfaction-enhanced digital books\, shape children’s embodied participation\, meaning-making\, and affective responses in early literacy contexts. His work examines how multisensory and multimodal texts shape young children’s engagement\, meaning-making\, and experiences of inclusion. He develops Critical Sensory Multimodal Literacy\, a framework that brings together sensory studies\, multimodality\, and critical literacy to understand reading as an embodied and socially situated practice.
