SYDNEY NGUYEN \nDr. Sydney Nguyen is an independent perfumer and a scientist studying human health hazard as a result of chemical exposure. She holds dual bachelors in biology and neuroscience from Purdue University and earned her PhD in endocrinology and reproductive physiology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She works for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and is currently pursuing her professional certification in toxicology. \nShe began studying chemical-associated health effects in 2012\, expanding her study to fragrance molecule safety for perfume production in 2022. She is an avid fragrance collector\, valuing perfumery as a form of communication and storytelling that transcends language. Sydney hopes to empower other independent perfumers to tell their stories safely and confidently by demystifying fragrance chemical evaluation. \n  \nABOUT OLFACTORY RESEARCH NOTES \nOlfactory Research Notes is a lecture series presented by the Institute for Art and Olfaction that highlights important research done in the field of olfaction\, directly from the scientists\, researchers\, academics\, and artists who do it. \n  \nATTENDANCE AND REFUND POLICY \nThis is an online class that will take place on Zoom.
