2021: EVERY WOMAN BIENNIAL – NFT
For the 2021 exhibition, which is an exhibition of NFTs, we have produced an original short perfume formula which we are releasing as a text-based art object.
FIREWORKS PERFUME ACCORD NFT
This piece serves as a commentary on ownership and intellectual property in perfumery. Perfume formulas cannot be protected by Intellectual Property law in the United States. However, original artworks can. This piece addresses a few questions but provides no answers. Does intellectual property law still present a reasonable set of expectations? If so, can you override a perfume formula’s lack of protection by turning it into a visual art piece? What about an NFT?

ABOUT EVERY WOMAN BIENNIAL
The wildly popular and world’s largest all woman and non-binary art biennial of its kind, is expanding for its 4th edition to be presented in two major cities simultaneously – London (June 12- July 9) and New York (June 24- July 3) 2021
The EVERY WOMAN BIENNIAL is a celebration of: uplifting women, non-binary artists, creating opportunities, encouragement, connection, community, inspiration and love. Bringing together established artists alongside hundreds of emerging artists, some showing for the first time.
The Biennial launched in NYC in 2014 by founder C. Finley, originally under the name, The Whitney Houston Biennial, as a way to provide a platform and exposure for more female artists. Each year, one of Whitney Houston’s songs celebrating women lifting each other up, provides the title for the Biennial, as well as a block-party style street dance, and this year’s Biennial theme is MY LOVE IS YOUR LOVE. Get ready to dance on June 24!
