The big news this month is that we are teaming up with Hammer Museum to present AIX Scent Fair – the first international artisan, independent, experimental scent fair to be presented by a contemporary art museum. It all happens May 6–8, 2016 at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles – and applications to participate are due Feb 8!

Thanks to the saturnine god of agriculture, wealth and dissolution, two-faced Janus was given the ability to simultaneously see the future and the past; one face forward, the other back. Janus’ name comes from ‘ianus’, the latin word for door.

3rd annual Art and Olfaction Awards: Submissions Open
Submissions for the third annual Art and Olfaction Awards are open until December 7. We accept work in three categories: Artisan (for artisan perfumers), Independent (for independent/niche brands) and the Sadakichi Award for Experimental Use of Scent.

Scratch and Sniff
At the first Mechanics of Scent workshop at The Institute for Art and Olfaction, a group of 11 experimentally-minded people got together to try to find the very best hacks for Scratch-N-Sniff.
