We’re thrilled to share the finalists and honorable mentions for the 10th Art and Olfaction Awards. They were announced on April 19 at an event in Los Angeles in the courtyard of Craft Contemporary, with support from our partners and friends. Learn all about them here!
Launched in 2014, the Art and Olfaction Awards have become a highly distinguished recognition of excellence in independent perfumery. This event aims to promote public interest and awareness of the latest developments in perfume and recognizes outstanding creators in the Independent, Artisan, and Experimental perfume categories. The awards acknowledge a diverse range of styles and techniques, honoring creators from various backgrounds, geographical locations, and perspectives.
We’re thrilled to bring the tenth edition to Lisbon, to be held on June 7 at Casa do Alentejo. We do all this with the help of a community of friends and partners. The partners for the 10th Art and Olfaction Awards are Mane (presenting partner), Luckyscent | Scent Bar, Pochpac, Sarah Horowitz Parfums, Esxence, Le Parfum Haute Magazine, and ÇaFleureBon, with in-kind support kindly provided by Oliver Crum Wine and Spirits, Madre Mezcal, Craft Contemporary, and Smell Lab Berlin.

DISCRETIONARY AWARDS
Awards are also given in four discretionary categories: the Contribution to Scent Culture Award, the Septimus Piesse Award for Exceptional Vision, the Aftel Award for Handmade Perfume and the Newcomer Award – a new category for 2024 – which will be presented to a perfume from a company that had its first launch in 2023.
AFTEL AWARD FOR HANDMADE PERFUME: This award will be given to one outstanding small-batch perfume that was perfumer-created, in-house, with no use of outsourced compounding or expansion at any stage of the process.
NEWCOMER AWARD: This award celebrates newcomers to the fragrance industry. It will be awarded to a perfume from a brand that launched its first fine fragrance product to market in 2023.
CONTRIBUTION TO SCENT CULTURE AWARD: This award will be given to one outstanding person who made significant contributions to global public awareness of artisan, independent, and experimental practices with scent in 2023.
SEPTIMUS PIESSE VISIONARY AWARD: This award is given to an outstanding person or group showing proof of exceptional vision with regard to how scent is used, developed, or imagined.
